Hollywood megastar Keanu Reeves, famous for his roles in movies like “The Matrix” and “John Wick,” has a passion for speed that extends beyond the silver screen.

When he’s not riding his custom-built motorcycles, he can be found cruising down the Pacific Coast Highway in one of his beloved Porsches.

Reeves’ affinity for the German automaker can be traced back to his childhood when his grandmother gifted him a collection of toy cars. Among his favorites were a black and gold-trimmed John Player I car, a red Ferrari 512 Berlinetta, and a gray Porsche 911 Turbo. As he grew older, Reeves developed a deep appreciation for driving and beautiful vehicles.

His first Porsche purchase was a black 911 Carrera 4S with a sunroof and manual transmission. He affectionately named it “The Sled” due to its sleek and fast nature. This particular model, a Type 993 rear-wheel drive from 1995 to 1998, featured a 3.6-liter M64 naturally-aspirated (air-cooled) engine.

It is believed that Reeves’ 911 Carrera 4S is from 1996 and was the same car he once famously strapped a Christmas tree onto the roof of back in 2010. He fell in love with the car’s “Sport Exhaust” system, which not only produced a captivating sound but also provided an exhilarating driving experience, especially on the canyons of the PCH.

Unfortunately, Reeves experienced the heartbreak of having his beloved Porsche stolen while he was away filming a movie. He believes that the thieves targeted his car because it had one of the last air-cooled engines, which made it highly desirable. However, he eventually decided to move on and approached Porsche’s Customer Consultation Center in Beverly Hills to personalize his new 911.

Despite Reeves’ fame and success, negotiations were required to achieve the desired customization. Ultimately, Porsche anodized the interior trim panels in black and added a custom 12-o’clock center marker on the steering wheel. Reeves even drove his customized 911 to the set while filming the first “John Wick” movie.

Porsche, known for its commitment to customization, has a long history of fulfilling special requests from its customers. The Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur division, established in 1978, has created unique modifications for various clients, ranging from one-off designs for sheiks to limited edition carbon fiber supercars like the 911 Turbo S Exclusive Series in 2017.

Reeves himself understands the process of creating exceptional vehicles. In 2011, he co-founded the Arch Motorcycle Company with custom bike expert Gard Hollinger, inspired by Hollinger’s impressive modifications to a Harley-Davidson. Arch Motorcycle Company produces one-of-a-kind motorcycles, each tailored to the individual owner’s preferences, boasting meticulous attention to detail and remarkable performance.

While owning an Arch motorcycle may require a significant investment, starting at $85,000 for the Arch KRGT-1, it is still relatively more affordable than a standard Porsche 911 Carrera 4S off the production line today.

Keanu Reeves’ love for Porsches and his involvement in creating unique vehicles demonstrate his passion for speed and the artistry behind exceptional automobiles.
